Our Origins


Robotics was built upon the dream of our founder Bob Bauer. We were inspired by people who can achieve big things with such limited resources and opportunity. Our friends and family supported the cause. We pulled in smart advisors and people who know business. We started small, with zero investment. And we are here today, humans and robots working together.

We respect the legacy and founding principles of the company. Our success did not happen overnight. We remember the hard work and sacrifice it took to bring Robotics to this day. And we never take the opportunities we have been given for granted.

Building a bright future starts with strong roots. We are able to take big bold leaps towards the unknown, because we have are feet grounded in our legacy. Our focus, drive and discipline in the now is what makes up tomorrow's universe.

We are a group of free thinkers, researchers, data collectors. Our team is spread all over the world. Everyone comes from very diverse backgrounds and contribute with their unique culture, perspective and challenges, key to AI development.

3 Robots

J0, M2 and K8 have been with us since the very beginning in 1999. At first K8 was only a software, then she took on a body. Now all three robot friends roam around our offices, keep learning new tricks and teaching us some too.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Compassion

We are working with robots who are learning from us humans on a daily basis. We must tap into common wisdom to be the best teachers for robots.

Practice

Every team member will sit at the desk of another team member and learn about their process. The only way to understand the big picture is by witnessing what happens in the trenches.

We strive to be great. And details are everything. Every pixel, every line of code, and every message has to be perfect.

OUR PROCESS

How We Do Things

Everything we do first goes through checks and balances. We run weekly standing meetings where everyone brings up pressing matters. We are not here for happy hour, but to change the world.


Workflow

Our customer support cycles go up to three years. Once we are in, we are in. We develop the technology for our customers, while we prototype for avenues of applications in other industries.

Software

While the center of our work is in the digital space, we try to keep our tools to the minimum. We let robots take care of that part of the business. Every 4 years we do a big overhaul of our systems, every team member gets to help us decide which tools stays and which tool goes.


Technology

We use the latest technology and methodology in our work. Robots! The first born has been with us the last five years. They are in training, just like any new employee.

Policies

Humans, robots and dogs co-exist in our workplace. But this doesn't make it a playground. Professional business attire and attitude comes to work with us.


Communications

All open door policy internally to get things done and move things forward. But information is gold. Client confidentiality is top priority. Circulating the right piece of information at the right time, is what we do.

Special Events

We host a yearly industry conference as a team. Communication forces help prep the agenda. We also attend three major events throughout the year in Davos, Buenos Aires and Detroit. Every year members present their pitch to be selected to attend an event.


Time Off

Straightforward four week leave altogether. Six months parental leave and four months unpaid optional. No work from home days. All computers and laptops remain in office premises.
